Steve's obituary

Stephen Carl Boyd, 76, of Williamstown, New Jersey, passed away on October 9, 2024, after a long struggle with Alzheimer's dementia and its resultant medical complications.

Steve was born on August 4, 1948, to William and Elizabeth Boyd and grew up in Beverly, New Jersey. Steve was quite an athlete and loved sports, especially football. Steve graduated from Palmyra High School in 1966, where he played football. He was a fierce and mighty athlete. After high school, Steve enlisted in the Air Force and served in the Air Force Honor Guard at Arlington National Cemetery during the Vietnam War.

In 1970 Steve met his first wife, Debbie, while working in a bank. After marriage, Steve and Debbie were blessed with two daughters, Heather and Shelbee. Unfortunately, Debbie passed after 25 years of marriage in 1997. In late 1997, Steve met his second wife, Carol, at a bowling alley in Medford, New Jersey. They went on to marry in that same bowling alley, and on that day Steve, Carol, Heather, Shelbee, and Carol's son Anthony blended into one family. Steve and Carol were also fortunate to have 25 years of marriage together.

Steve was a hard worker and a real go-getter, often working multiple jobs at a time to provide for his family. His skills were varied, and he ultimately became warehouse manager at the Mount Laurel MUA, a position from which he retired in 2011.

After his retirement, Steve and Carol moved to Tucson, Arizona, where they lived life to its fullest for 12 years before returning to New Jersey in 2021. Before his illness, Steve enjoyed hiking, tinkering with his classic cars, and spending time with his many friends at the Amvets Veterans Club.

Steve was predeceased by his wife, Debbie Boyd; his parents, Bill and Betty Boyd; and other beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and in-laws. He is survived by his wife, Carol; daughter Heather Nothnick and husband Gary, daughter Shelbee Poulton; son Anthony Pringle and wife Ashley, and six beautiful grandchildren: Brittany Nothnick, Chase Nothnick, Brooke Poulton, Caleb Poulton, Maisie Pringle, and Hudson Pringle.  He is also survived by his two beloved sisters, Kathy McGinley & Janice Price, and their families.

Services will be held at Beverly National Cemetery on October 18, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Alzheimer’s Disease Research:
