Stephanie's obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Stephanie Lynn Wilson-Conner, who left us far too soon on May 25, 2024. Born on September 1, 1961. Stephanie brought joy, love, and boundless energy into the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Steph, which is what everyone called her was a vibrant and spirited woman, known for her love of travel, exquisite taste in food, and an infectious enthusiasm for life. Her laughter was unmistakable, and her presence could light up any room. She had a special knack for cutting into conversations with her bold voice ( she was loud ), a trait that endeared her to many and made her the unforgettable character we all loved. She enjoyed saying “Don’t act like you just met me”

Green ( she loved all shades ) was her favorite color, reflecting her nurturing nature and love for the outdoors. She had an extraordinary ability to take care of people, offering a warm heart and wise counsel to all who needed it. Her home was a haven where everyone felt welcomed and cared for.

A devoted mother, Steph was a constant source of support and unconditional love for her daughters, Shanette Wilson and Jessica Wilson-Higginbotham. Her daughters were her pride and joy, and she would move mountains for them. She often said “ I would have a 100 Shanette and Jessica’s, you guys were great kids and so much fun to raise”. Stephanie was also a cherished daughter to Asilean Ramsey, and a beloved sister to her brothers Aaron Wilson, Calvin Wilson, Gary Wilson, and Warren Wilson, and her sisters Selina Jones and Patricia Carr.

Her legacy of love, kindness, and zest for life will continue to live on in the hearts of those she left behind. While our hearts ache with her absence, we find solace in knowing that she truly enjoyed her life to the fullest and made a lasting impact on so many.

A celebration of Stephanie's life will be held on June 8, 2024 at Mt. Zion church in Newport, RI, where family and friends are invited to share memories and honor her remarkable spirit.

She will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who loved her.
