Stella's obituary
🙏 Thank you All, for your amazing love and prayers and best wishes.
Stella Lynn LaRose passed away peacefully in her home in Palos Verdes after a sudden stroke, at the age of 92.
We are fortunate and blessed to have known Stella and been part of her life and soul. Stella was a bright beautiful star and brought joy and light to us all. She is missed more than words can say. We will miss the warm, friendly communications; the jokes, holiday wishes and cheerful emails… with Stella’s passing there is a huge hole that cannot ever be replaced.
Born in China to a distinguished family Stella Lynn Cheung was raised in Hong Kong and graduated from Hong Kong University at age 19. Stella came to the United States as a Rhodes Scholar to attend graduate school at UCLA where she met and married the love of her life, Russell LaRose. Stella and Russell were completely devoted to each other and together for over 70 years. Stella was a stunningly beautiful Hollywood actress in the 1950’s and she loved to dance and sing, surrounding herself with music and light and beauty throughout her life. Stella and Russ were a popular dancing couple around the Southland for decades.
Stella Lynn is preceded in death by her two parents Wing Kue Cheung and Yee Ching Cheung and is survived by her husband Russell, two daughters Liani and Didi, and 5 grandchildren.
Stella will forever be in the hearts and souls of her family and her many wonderful and varied friends. She wishes love to everyone. May Stella shine on with all of us, forever.
RIP beautiful bright star Stella - You are singing, laughing and dancing with the Angels now. We miss you and love you forever.
Ashes will be saved to be combined with those of her beloved husband Russell and scattered offshore near the family home in Palos Verdes. In lieu of flowers please support your local Dance, Music, and Art programs. Thank you 💫
