Stella Marie Griffin was born November 26, 1943 in Beaumont, Texas and was adopted by Chester and Stella Richardson of New Iberia, Louisiana. Chester Theresa Smith, Stella’s only sibling growing up was born four years later. Stella graduated from St Edwards Elementary School, where she met her forever friend Margaret Boudreaux Jones.
She graduated from Southern University with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. After graduation, her first teaching job was at Canal Elementary …
