Stanley's obituary
Stanley Wonorski, 72, took his last breath on February 5th, 2024 at Mansfield Hospital in Mansfield, OH after successfully battling cancer–twice. He was born on September 23rd, 1951 in New Castle, PA, aka Steeltown America. He was the son of the late Emma (Bobic) and Stanley Wonorski. On June 9th, 1976 he married Cynthia Lee Weaver and they had three children.
Surviving family members include his brother Robert Wonorski, children Lucas (Melissa) Wonorski, Morgan (Mark) Wonorski Davies, and MacKenzie (Derek) Pugh. To his eight beloved grandchildren Natalie, Faith, LayKenn, Makayla, Phoenix, Elliot, Vida, and Dario, he was known as Gramps, Poppy, and Grandpa.
Throughout his life, he swam the quarries of Bessemer, climbed the rocks at Red Rocks Amphitheater, walked the Redwoods of Ladybird Johnson Grove, prospected for gold in Happy Camp, CA, was a master woodworker and journeyman carpenter, a steelworker at Youngstown Sheet and Tube, and tried to catch every fish from Ohio to Georgia. Everyone who met him loved him.
A memorial service will be held for friends and family Saturday, February 10th at 855 Bowers Road, Mansfield, OH from 12pm-5pm to celebrate the life of Stan the Man.
