Gene's obituary

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Stanley Eugene Stone, most who know and love him call him "Gene".  Gene passed peacefully surrounded by many loved ones on Monday, February 19, 2024.  He was born on the fourteenth day of February in 1948 to Stanley and Chloe Stone of McAlester, Oklahoma.  Gene enriched the lives of those around him for 76 memorable years.

Known for his witty personality and his unique sense of humor, Gene was the life of many gatherings.  He could light up a room with laughter and he had an uncanny ability to find humor in the most ordinary situations.  His ornery nature was balanced wonderfully with his warm heart, making Gene a unique soul who will be deeply missed.

Gene was preceded in death by his father, Colonel Stanley Stone; mother, Chloe Stone; and nephew, Todd Jenson.  Gene's memory will be cherished and kept alive by his loving family who survive him.  He leaves behind his beloved wife of 45 years, Lisa Stone.  Their bond which stood the test of time , was a testament of true love and companionship.

He is also survived by a loving sister, Sue Jenson, her husband Gene, as well as, the rest of the Jenson family.  In addition, Gene had seven children consisting of five boys and two girls.  He is survived by children, Chris Stone and wife Shauna of Edmond, Jennifer Stone-Cherry and husband Troy of Oklahoma City, Chad Stone of Edmond, Andy Stone of Oklahoma City, Amanda Stone and Wes Fitzgerald of Bethel, Brian Stone of Choctaw, and Randy Stone and wife TraSena of Oklahoma City.  He is also survived by his fun-loving brother and sister in-laws; Kevin Skirlock and wife, Vanessa, Ericka Servantes and husband, John,  Melody Cook and husband, Anthony.  He also leaves behind many grandchildren, great-grand children, nephews, nieces, and cousins whom he deeply loved.

He will be greatly missed and will always hold a place in our hearts.  We would love for you to come and honor his life at Meadowood Baptist Church 2816 N. Woodcrest Dr.  Midwest City, OK 73110 on Friday, April 5th at 4:30 pm.
