Stanley's obituary

Stanley Darrell James (“Stan”) of Flint, MI passed away on May 9, 2022 at his residence. A memorial service will be held June 4, 2022 at 11am at Bethany Baptist Church (2353 E. Grand Blanc rd. Grand Blanc, MI 48439). Pastor Eric Stewart of One Life Church will be officiating. Stan was born on March 18, 1956 in Flint, MI to Darrell and Peggy James. He coached soccer for 40 years throughout Genesee County and loved to pour into the young people he coached. He delivered for Frito Lay, The Flint Journal, Jay’s Potato Chips, Brownberry Bread, prescription medication, and was a manager of sporting goods at Kmart. Stan completed his bachelors degree in history at the University of Michigan-Flint and was married to the love of his life, Linda James (Allinger), for 46 years. He was also an active member of One Life Church of Grand Blanc. Stan is survived by his parents Darrell and Peggy James, wife Linda James (Allinger), sons Jason James (Nicole) and Eric James (Annette), daughters Jennifer James (David) and Corrie Staley (Nick), sisters Ellen James and Cecilia Dunavant (Ray). Grandsons Gerrit (LeRae), Dennis, Simeon, Piper, and Jack and granddaughters Leyah (Joe), Kaleigh, Lily, Anna, and Abigail and step-grandsons Andrew and Christian and step-granddaughters Vivian and Caitlan. Great grandsons Phillip and Xavier and great granddaughter Olivia. He is also survived by his nephew James and niece Sarah.
