Stan's obituary

Stan E. Charles passed on to Heaven on April 13th, 2020 .

Stan was born in Tete Morne a village in Grand Bay, Dominica on November 3rd 1950 to father Lexon Joseph Charles and mother Leone Marie George. Stan had a fun and vibrant childhood in Dominica, mainly spent hanging with his brothers but left as teenager to pursue better opportunities in St. Thomas, VI. While in St. Thomas Stan worked at a hotel on Water Island and saved money to provide for his family back home.

When Stan was 26 he moved to New York to live with his brother Charlie. In New York Stan studied at Fordham University before transferring to St. Francis College. He studied Accounting and graduated with a double major in Business. Stan worked as an accountant, auditor and tax preparer for many years. He owned Tes Auto Repair & Sales with his partner Mr. James Henderson. Stan was very loved and respected in his work community. Tes Auto provided a safe and affordable environment for people in his community to get together and get their taxes done, fix their cars and receive overall small business information and support. Stan considered all his clients and customers family.

Stan comes from a big and loving family. Stan is survived by his wife Judith and his three kids Candice, Shanel and Sean. He is survived by his sisters: Bernadine, Carmen, Josephine (Tita), Helen, Ruth, Lucian and Maudeline. Stan is survived by his brothers whom he was extremely close with: Peter, Charlie (Roseauboy) and Joseph (Murphy.) Stan has 3 grandchildren Aden, Liat and Ari and dozens of loving nieces and nephews and cousins. Stan is predeceased by his parents Lexon and Marie (DaDa), his daughter Camille and his sister Edith.

Stan was an intelligent, fun and loving father, husband, brother and uncle. He loved listening to music, dancing and educating himself on new topics. He was a skilled Dominos player and an excellent backyard BBQ griller. Stan was known to be a devoted family man and one of his favorite things to do was take his kids to Maryland every summer.

One of Stan's favorite quotes in life was "Celebrate Life, Life is Good." He would encourage you to do the same!
