Stacy's obituary
Stacy Lynn Collins was born in Smithville, Missouri to Charles and Shirley (Fox) Collins on November 20, 1969. He was the youngest of four. His siblings say he was spoiled and ornery from the day he was born.
Their family moved to Stockton when Stacy was in high school. He was supposed to graduate in 1988, but he was suspended from school for starting a fire in the bathroom. He denied it his whole life, and he never went back.
Instead, he moved to Kansas City with his oldest brother and started working in construction. He moved back to Stockton, and after working for a few guys in town, started his own carpentry business, Collins Carpentry. He recruited his sons to work with him at times. His sons say he was a tough dad and an even tougher boss.
Stacy loved to prank everyone. Everyday he would go out of his way to scare his wife anyway he could. His kids loved to get him back whenever they got a chance. His last day on earth, his daughters scared him with a baby snake. He was scared of snakes!
Despite his fear, Stacy enjoyed the lake, bonfires and being outdoors. He spent many hours boating, tubing, fishing, swimming, and mushroom hunting. Seth remembers a scuba diving adventure in the lake.
Stacy lived life to the fullest. His brother remembers when they were kids, they had mini-bikes and go carts they used to ride around on all the time. He was always riding four wheelers, go carts, or a side by side. He recently picked up a new hobby - dirt track racing with Kynsey.
Stacy passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday, May 6, 2024. He leaves behind his wife Tonya and a whole gaggle of kids and grandkids: Kelsie and Derek Parrett, Kynsey Collins, Seth and Lily Haslock, Bryce Collins, Macy Collins, Ruger Collins, and Aspen Collins. His grandkids include Daniel, Larissa, Destry, Maddison, Alden, Dylan, and Forrest. He is preceded in death by his dad, Charles Collins. He is also survived by his mom, Shirley, his older and wiser siblings, Allen and Yvette Collins, Kim Collins, Jeff and Ashley Collins, and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Stacy joked that he was like a cat with nine lives and he still had a couple left. While we know he is in Heaven now, he leaves a big hole in our hearts.
