My name is Britney Laird and on Wednesday July 29, 2020 I got a call letting me know that my mom Stacey Hartley has passed away. It was very unexpected and I’m still in completely shock . But luckily I have had a lot of prayers, love and support from my fiancé , 3 children, family, friends and church to help me get through this very hard time. I was my mother’s only child who gave her 3 amazing grandchildren. As much as I regret that we weren’t as close as I would’ve liked us to be and lord knows if I could change that now I would. But I know I can’t and regardless of our weird relationship I know she loved me and her grandkids as much as you could and was very proud and she knows that I loved her very much. I am so thankful for all the wonderful memories I have of me and her throughout the years and for the time she got to enjoy her grandchildren. I only wish she could be here to see me get married in October but I guess God needed her. As her only child I am responsible for her and her memorial. She wanted to be cremated so it was easier on me. So I am abiding by her wishes and doing so. My mom was very sick before she passed and was on disability from having double pneumonia 6 years ago and during that had her lung shaved and punctured and ended up with a hole in her side. So that put her on disability. So she has been sick and fighting and hurting for a long time now and even though this hurts and is devastating I know She’s in a better place and isn’t in pain and that helps soothe my aching heart to know she no longer lives in pain and is happy. So now not only am I planning a wedding but I’m also having to plan a cremation and a small memorial service for my mom. she had no life insurance policy and it is going to cost me to pay for her cremation and I would like to get a decent urn for her to come home with me in. So anyone who would like to help contribute to that it would greatly be appreciated and any little but helps. Even just prayers! Thank you so much in advance!
