Background
After Sonia Dismukes gave birth to her first son Chad Graddick, he was diagnosed with Autism. This motivated her to become a member of the Autism Society of Alabama and eventually be involved and volunteer at the Spring Hill School of Special Children and also the Learning Tree. She then went on to earn a Degree in Special Education at the University of South Alabama in 1998 where she would eventually become a Teacher for the Mobile County Public School System specializing in teaching kids with various disabilities where she eventually retired after 23 years of valued service.
