Phil and I went down to Amelia Island to surf a tropical storm and stay at his aunt and uncles house. Woody and Marianne were also visiting Amelia Island, so it was great to see everyone! 

The waves were really big from a tropical storm. Phil and I paddled out, and to my surprise, Woody grabbed a board and paddled out with us! He paddled into a massive wave, got up to his feet, and the wave completely barreled and he was gobbled up by the sea. Woody paddled to shore like a badass. Phil and I got womped by waves  for a bit longer, but the storm changed direction, the waves turned to chop, and the island lost power.  We all returned to Phil’s aunt and uncles, relaxed and had a great evening. The next day we all grabbed breakfast and drove north to get away from the storm.

Woody snagged an epic wave and will always be a legend in my mind!
