Socorro's obituary
Socorro E. Medina (Nana Cora), 86, of Santa Ana, born August 17, 1935, passed away July 31, 2022, with her family by her side. Socorro is survived by four children: Arlene Ramirez, Carol Ayala, Boomer Ramirez, and Angela Cunningham. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Socorro was a long-time breast cancer survivor and has been in remission for over 20 years.
Socorro was a devoted grandmother and a long-time patron of St. Barbara’s Catholic Church. Socorro spent 42 years working a rewarding job at Case Swayne before an even more rewarding retirement. She was an avid music enthusiast, loved to cook, and spent hours solving word puzzles.
Services will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at 10 a.m. at St. Barbara’s Catholic Church in Santa Ana. Burial to follow promptly at 1:30 p.m. at the Riverside National Cemetery. The family is asking in lieu of flowers that donations be made in support of the American Cancer Society in Socorro's name. Masks are optional but highly recommended at both church and burial.
Socorro was loved dearly and will be greatly missed by family and friends.
