I loved and respected this man my whole life and I will miss him. I wish my daughter would have known him if even for a day, but I will, along with many others tells stories of his heroism and love for life from beginning to the end. I had many β€œenlightening” conversations with him through the years and I can say with no hesitation that he loved his family, his friends, and any cool person in the world that was cool with with. β€œALOHA”

Gary aka β€œSky” and I grew up together as 1st. Cousins. We lived four blocks apart in SE Portland and raised hell from grade school through high school. We got in trouble terrorizing the neighborhood, with our BB guns, stealing watermelons, pulling each other with a rope in the snow behind his BSA motor cycle, hiding from the cops after drag racing on Foster Road, etc. etc etc. One time we spent $5 @ 25cents a ride staying on the roller coaster at a Jantzen Beach family picnic.
We even shared our first job as dishwashers at the Italian restaurant. He was 16 and got me in two nights a week at age 15.
After high school we have went out separate ways but always kept in touch over the years. I will miss him.
