Sid's obituary
Sid Walter, 71, of Phelan, CA, passed away June 2025
Sid, a man of grit, sharp wit, and unwavering independence, passed away in June 2025. Born on July 12, 1953, at Pomona Valley hospital, and was the baby of his siblings whom grew up in Claremont and Pomona. Sid lived life on his own terms, with a rebellious spirit and a mind always ready for a challenge.
Sid is survived by his loving siblings-Tracy, Shirley, Linda and Steve and nephews and nieces who knew better than anyone the fiery determination behind his every word. He met Wilma in 1977 became involved and stepped into hers and her daughters’ Tina's and Lori's lives in 1978 and was the father to Brand Russell. He was a proud grandfather to many, each of whom inherited a piece of his tenacity and adventurous heart.
Never one to back down from an intellectual challenge, Sid delighted in testing the limits of conversation and thought, pushing others to sharpen their reasoning and stand firm in their beliefs. His ornery streak was as legendary as his loyalty, ensuring that those close to him always knew where he stood.
His love for the open road and the rumble of his Harley made him a force among his friends, riding not just for the thrill, but for the bond of brotherhood forged on the asphalt. His faithful companion, Snow, was a steady presence, sharing in his countless adventures. Beyond the highways, Sid found peace in the wilderness, drawn to the art of hunting and the untamed beauty of the outdoors.
Sid was bold, unfiltered, and unapologetically himself-a man who made an impression that will never fade. His laughter, his challenges, and his sheer presence will be missed, but his spirit rides on.
Rest easy, your road never truly ends.
