Shon's obituary
Shon Peter Barton, 55, passed away on February 4, 2025, in Weirton, West Virginia. Born on September 10, 1969, in Malden, Massachusetts, Shon lived a life marked by his outgoing nature, quirky sense of humor, and deep love for those around him.
Shon built a career that reflected both his expertise and passion for hands-on work. He spent over five years working for Bestway Oilfield in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania, and also shared his knowledge as an instructor at the New Castle School of Trades. His dedication to his craft was evident in everything he did, particularly in his love for welding—a skill that blended precision with creativity.
Beyond his professional life, Shon had a wide range of interests that made him a truly unique individual. He was fascinated by conspiracy theories and had an enduring curiosity about the unknown, including an enthusiasm for Bigfoot lore. His love for pugs brought him great joy, and he was known for his friendly and loving personality that left a lasting impression on those who knew him.
Shon is survived by his daughter, Ashlea Barton, and his brother, Chuck Barton. He was predeceased by his parents, Stella M. Orluk-Barton and Charles H. Barton.
A closing message from Ashlea: My father had stories, dreams, and perhaps burdens I will never fully kknow or understand. He was human, like all of us, trying to find his way through joy, hardship, and everything in between. Though our paths diverges and our relationship was characterized by complexities, he was, and always will be, a part of me. In the afterlife, I hope he is able to find answers to the questions that have haunted him, and he can finally meet Bigfoot. Rest in peace, dad. May you now find the peace that you may have been missing from your life.
