Shirley's obituary
Shirley Newton, 87, of Stanardsville, passed away on September 20, 2025.
Shirley was a beloved wife to her husband Jon, as well as a devoted mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and a passionate artist who loved painting. She will be remembered for her creativity, kindness, and love of family.
Shirley is survived by her husband Jon; her sister Diane Stigberg; two sons; two daughters; six granddaughters; two great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter.
A private family service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Madison-Greene Humane Society in her memory, honoring her lifelong love of animals.
