Shirley's obituary
With a sparkle in her eyes until her last breath, Shirley Ann Morison passed away peacefully on Friday, August 12, 2022 at the Cross Cancer Institute in Edmonton, Ab. with her husband and youngest son by her side.
Shirley was born on August 13, 1946 in Innisfail, Ab. one of 4 children born to Paul and Thordys Tennant. Shirley's love for animals was tangible from a young age, and while many graced her homes throughout her life, her beloved Quazi always had a special place in her heart. She had a special connection with wolves and it was evident why; fierce and loyal, compassionate and steadfast; Shirley embodied the very soul of a wolf. A petite woman with a Viking spirit, Shirley could make the strongest of men buckle to their knees with just a glance, and soften the hardest of hearts with a smile and twinkle in her eyes.
She will live on in the hearts of her brother Robert; husband Leslie Ball; 3 children, Nikki McGillivray, Kelly McGillivray and William Morison (Rosmarie); step-son Tavis; and her grandchildren, Ashley, Max, Ariana, Cole, Axle and Carissa.
The sincerest of thank you's to Dr. Gabos and all the staff at the Cross Cancer Institute for going above and beyond to ensure Shirley was treated with dignity and love in her final moments.
Friends and family are welcome to join us October 1, 2022 for an informal day of remembrance at Ridgewood Hall (37160 Range Road 10, Markerville, Ab.) where we will share memories and celebrate Shirley’s legacy with music and laughter, just as she would want.
