I remember the morning after thanksgiving we came to visit, I was still filled from the big dinner before. She offered to cut me a big piece of carrot cake and said we would share but while I was talking with other family she had cut a slice for herself too. When she put the plate down in front of me she giggled as she put down her plate too saying she had tricked me! Everytime I see carrot cake I think of Great Grandma. I miss you everyday great grandma I love you!

Aunt Jean,

Thank you for being an amazing mother, wife, grandma, and woman.  You married for love and never let the racism that exists stop you from loving and I respect you so much for that.  One of my favorite stories is how you loved sheep’s blood until you found out what you were actually eating.  You are greatly missed, and never forgotten!

Best grandma ever, a sweet and big hearted, strong woman who gave me so much in my life.
