Shirley's obituary
Our beloved Shirley A. Clay entered into God’s Kingdom on March 7th, 2022.
Shirley was born to Lawrence and Alice Clay on April 8, 1938 in Columbus, Ohio. After graduating from Mifflin High School, she worked in various industries before she settled into a career in real estate. Throughout the years, she loved spending time with family and friends, cheering on the Buckeyes and growing record-breaking tomato plants. Behind the wheel of her Cadillac with “Big Swan” license plate, she and her best friend, Sharon Evans, went on countless adventures, near and far.
Shirley loved to provide a “second chance” to those in need. She shared her resources freely to everyone; whether it was a roof, food, adventures or laughter that was required. She was the embodiment of a joyful giver and poured out her heart and blessings equally between family, friends and strangers. Her legacy is a benchmark to those who strive to live compassionate and merciful lives.
Shirley joins her sisters, Faye Clay & Barbara Clay Hughes, brother, Larry Clay and her parents, Lawrence and Alice Clay in Heaven. She is survived by many loving family members and friends.
Acts 20:33-35
I have not coveted anyone’s silver or gold or clothing. 34 You yourselves know that these hands of mine have supplied my own needs and the needs of my companions. 35 In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ”
