As a volunteer cantor in our church, I always look for a friendly face in the pews to calm my nerves and anxiety when I sing. For many years, I could count on Hank and Shirley smiling up at me from their regular spot up near the front. I've really enjoyed their friendship and, regretfully, have only managed to visit Shirley a few times at the Chelsea and at Kessler. I will miss her.
