Sherry's obituary

It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Sherry Lenae Smith, on November 6, 2024. Cherished by her family and community, she preferred to simply be called Grandma but was also lovingly known as Grandma Sherry.

Sherry led an exceptional and accomplished life, both in her personal passions and professional endeavors. Among her most noted achievements were her extensive family and extensive achievements in the bowling world. She’s received numerous awards, accolades, and recognitions in numerous tournaments, leagues, and her most treasured role, coaching. All have been a testament to her dedication and love for the sport, and to sharing her incredible heart with everyone she touched.

Equally impressive and inspiring was her work ethic, which earned her many awards for performance at Sears and Wells Fargo. Her unwavering commitment to excellence and unyielding determination set an unrivaled example for those around her.

As a mother, she filled the life of her loving daughters, Serena Carter, Darlene Smith, Nancy McClure and Dawn Rollins, with immense love and life lessons. As the grandmother of Ricky Roybal-Smith, Natasha Brooks, Travis Smith, Ashley Brooks, Renae Carter, Janae Brooks, Cynthia Crespin, Marena Smith, Kirstyn Smith-LeCavalier, Emilee Carter, John Carter II, Crystal Brooks, Brandi Ely and Dustin Rollins, she cast a wide net of affection, becoming a "Grandma" to all who knew her. She was also the Great-Grandmother of Destiny, Keagan, Anthony, Tayvon, Riley, Elias, Sophina, Yesenia, Stella, Samuel, Kalaia and Allison. Grandma Sherry also has numerous nieces, nephews and cousins spanning multiple states.

Above all, Sherry's greatest legacy was the enduring bonds she fostered with those around her, painted with the colors of kindness and care. Her unconditional love and wisdom will continue to nurture the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known her.

Sherry will be sorely missed, forever cherished, and always remembered. As we mourn her departure, we celebrate her remarkable life, embrace her enduring spirit, and honor the exceptional legacy she has left behind.
