Sherry Kay Harrison, 81, of Grant's Lick, KY, passed away on May 16, 2024, in Lakeland, FL.

Sherry was a very positive and upbeat person who found great satisfaction in her career in mental health and medicine. She worked as a registered nurse in various hospitals, including Westminster Community Hospital in CA, Wilcox Hospital in Lihue, Kauai, and as the Assistant Deputy Director of Behavioral Health for the state of Hawaii. Sherry also worked in the division for mental health in Raleigh, NC, before retiring and moving to Florida.

In her free time, Sherry enjoyed beading and making jewelry for her family and friends. She had a passion for playing the piano and singing, as well as reading and exploring metaphysics and philosophy. Sherry also loved living in Hawaii and spending time at the beach.

Sherry is survived by her children Scott Totten (Alyssia), Derek Piwonka, Michele Totten, and Drew Totten (Claudia), as well as grandchildren Harrison, Charlotte, Austin, Natalie, Christian, Kira, and Lily. She is also survived by her brothers David, Robert, Paul, Wesley, and sisters Collette and Gloria, along with many nieces and nephews. Sherry was predeceased by her father Roger Harrison and her mother Betty Oliver (nee Schanuel).

Sherry did not want any memorial services. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society or NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) in her memory.
