Sherry's obituary
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Sherry Dawn Arant, born on the 11th of December, 1959. Sherry passed away on the 12th of November, 2024, leaving a profound void in the hearts of all those who knew and loved her.
Sherry is survived by her loving husband, Randy Arant, her devoted sons, Paul Brown and John Guy, and her cherished daughter, Amanda Campbell. She is also survived by her son-in-law, Ian Campbell, and her daughter-in-law, Luna Guy. Sherry was immensely proud of her grandchildren, Owen and Delilah Brown, Colin, Olivia and Dillon Campbell, and Axel and Ace Guy, who brought boundless joy and love into her life. Additionally, she is survived by her caring brother, Jay Hatfield. Sherry was predeceased by her father, Hank Hatfield in 1981, and Mother, Peggy Hatfield in 2024.
Sherry was a graduate of Falls Church, VA High School, class of 1978. Sherry overcame tragedy in 1995 after the sudden loss of her second husband, Thomas Guy. Her professional life was dedicated to educating and nurturing the young minds of special needs students at Fauquier County Schools for 23 years until her retirement in 2024. As her career and life grew, she met her third husband Randy Arant. Sherry married Randy Arant in 2002.
A celebration of Sherry's life will be held on January 11th, 2025, at 2:00PM, at Wilderness Community Church in Locust Grove, VA, where friends and family are welcome to honor her memory.
Sherry had a taste for the classics, her favorite music including Led Zeppelin, Heart, Fleetwood Mac, Alabama, and Tim McGraw, and her favorite film being the timeless 'Gone with the Wind'. Sherry rooted passionately for the Washington Redskins and enjoyed a good game of Uno or Rummy. Her favorite recreational activities included spending quality time with her grandkids. Sherry loved the tranquility of Skyline Drive, the Tennessee mountains, and the sunny shores of Myrtle Beach. She had a fondness for the color purple, reflecting her kind and caring personality.
Among Sherry's greatest accomplishments were raising her three children, and her determined four-year battle against stage 4 lung cancer. Her strength, resilience, and unyielding love left a lasting legacy that inspires all who knew her. Despite the odds, she never failed to put others first, a testament to her kind nature.
Sherry's legacy will be her unwavering courage, her endless kindness, and her remarkable resilience. She will forever be remembered in our hearts.
