Predeceased by her loving parents, Carol Major and John Cummings, Sherry led a fulfilling life, demonstrating the unyielding strength and independence that defined her. Often described as stubborn, Sherry was nonetheless, deeply respected and admired by friends, family, and coworkers alike.
Sherry is survived by her children, John Cummings, Jennifer Cummings, and Lisa Cummings, all who carry their mother's resilient spirit. Sherry is the oldest of seven children, leaving behind brothers, Frank, Gary, and John, and sisters, Karen, Robin, and Bonnie who will miss her profoundly.
Passionate about literature, Harry Potter was among Sherry's favorite books, demonstrating her love for magical and fantastical tales. Sherry also enjoyed the popular television show, NCIS, reflecting her interest in stories of justice and integrity.
Sherry held a brilliant career as a Security Officer for the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety, where she was well respected and admired. The unwavering discipline and dedication she demonstrated on the job were a testament to the hardworking nature Sherry embodied.
Sherry was a familiar face at The Senior Center, a local spot she loved, where she spent cherished moments visiting with friends and family and enjoying social gatherings when she wasn't spoiling her 7 grandchildren. Passionate about the color purple, Sherry's love for the vibrant hue was a testament to her creative and lively spirit.
Throughout her life, Sherry imparted crucial life lessons, underscoring the importance of diligence, rule following, and respect for coworkers. Her indomitable spirit, immense resolve, and unyielding strength are a part of the rich legacy she leaves behind that will continue to inspire all those who knew her.
