Sherri's obituary

Sherri Gayle Taylor Evans, 69, of Knoxville, TN, passed away peacefully on November 20th, 2025, at University of Tennessee Medical Center. Sherri was born on October 17th, 1956, in Destin, FL. She grew up one of nine siblings, whom she cherished dearly. Sherri followed her dreams, and went on to open LaMesa Art Gallery in downtown Lenoir City, TN through the early to late nineties. Sherri had careers that took her many places across the country, but moved back to Knoxville to be closer to her sons and grandchildren in 2012. She eventually took an office position at Sequoyah Swimming Pools, Inc., where she was beloved by many of the clients and staff. Sherri will be remembered for her kindness, quick-witted humor, artistry, and immense love for her family. She touched the lives of many with her big heart and gentle spirit. Sherri is survived by her sons Jonathan and Robert Evans, her grandchildren Laura Evans, Amelia Evans, Ashlyn Evans, and Jack Evans, and her siblings Sandra Cashe, Michele Taylor, Monica Taylor, Patrick Taylor, Elliot Taylor, Scott Taylor, and Michael Taylor. She is preceded in death by her father Thomas (Tom) Taylor, her mother Sandra Taylor, and her brother Greg Taylor. A celebration of life will be held in the Spring of 2026. Date, time, and location to be determined. Friends and family are welcome to attend and share memories. In lieu of flowers, and in honor of Sherri’s love for animals, the family requests donations to the ASPCA or Young Williams Animal Center. Though Sherri is no longer with us, her love and light will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
