Sheri's obituary
Wife, mother, and high school drama teacher Sheri Carroll’s love of life didn’t come to an end with her death. At age 58, Sheri passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2022, surrounded by loved ones, leaving a legacy that will live on through the thousands of people she impacted on this earth.
Sheri was born on July 10, 1964 in Fort Myers, FL to Lauren (Bud) and Sharon Britt. Sheri was the first college graduate in her family in more than three generations, receiving a B.A. degree from Brigham Young University, and M.Ed. and Ed.S. degrees from Valdosta State University. Sheri served as a teacher for over 24 years. In 2006, she was named one of the State of Georgia’s Top 10 Teachers. Sheri directed over 100 theater productions; she and her students' performances earned numerous theater honors. Sheri was also a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Sheri’s optimism and determination were contagious. Her sense of adventure took you along for the journey of a lifetime. Her career passion was to introduce students to arts and culture who would otherwise not have had the opportunity. Whether it be through musicals, haunted houses, field trips to Europe and NYC, mystery dinner theater, conferences, museum trips, she always found a way to make learning a blast. She had an uncanny ability to make you feel like the most special person in her life. Sheri worked hard and played hard. She constantly booked trips and adventures across the world with her family and friends every chance she got; giving the gift of beautiful memories to all she could.
Sheri was preceded in death by her father Lauren Earl Britt. She is survived by her husband, Greg Carroll of Thomasville, GA; her 9 children, Paris Dean (Matthew), Chynna Silvernale (Quinn), Collin Dorsett, Haley Lam (Kenneth), Brent Carroll, Blake Carroll, Hannah Carroll, Matthew Carroll, and Rebecca Keyton (Harrison); her 2 grandchildren, Indy Silvernale and Aiden Lam; her 7 siblings, Lauri Thomas (Jeff), Lauren Scott Britt (Jackie), Debi Hood (Keni Paul), Matthew Britt (Sarah), Randall Britt (Michelle), Martin Scott Britt (Janie), and Sandy Britt Culpepper; her mother, Sharon Britt; and her in-laws, Lin Voyles (Augmond).
