Sheldon's obituary

Shelly Drobny, 74, Highland Park, IL passed away surrounded by loved ones after a brave battle with pancreatic cancer.

He was a force of nature. He lived a life full of passion, spirituality and purpose. He was a true renaissance man with an unrelenting quest for knowledge and understanding of everything from history, religion, politics, science, music and movies. His passion and savvy drove his very full and purposeful life. He was a leader in the accounting and investment community. He was an active supporter of the Chicago Jewish community and a benefactor of an Interdisciplinary Program for the Study of Jewish Culture and Society at the University of Illinois. He co-founded Air America Radio, the first all-progressive talk radio network, with the likes of Al Franken, Rachel Maddow, Marc Maron on its roster.

Most importantly, he was the most loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and husband our family could ask for. He was determined to provide for his family and give us a life full of love and laughter. May his memory be a blessing.
