Shelby Jean Barksdale (Shel) brightened this earth when she was born on Nov 8, 1951 in El Dorado, AR. She supplied family and friends with an abundance of joy and laughs until becoming an angel in heaven on Sept 1, 2021 in Santa Maria, CA. On Nov 23, 1973 she and her husband Bob married and shared 48 beautiful years. They enjoyed entertaining and traveling until deciding to retire to Santa Maria, CA because the beach was their happy place. They were the love of each other’s lives and spent their days touring the wine country, savoring the finest restaurants and walking the beach. Anyone that knew Shel knew her fondness for her fur-babies and her determination to provide them a life of luxury and love. She was a loving wife, a devoted daughter, a cherished sister, a second mom to nieces/nephews and a lifelong friend. She adored her family and friends and spent countless hours on the phone catching up on anything new or reminiscing about the old, especially if it had anything to do with her favorite entertainer Elvis Presley. On any given day she could find the humor in life and keep all those around her laughing. Her bubbly and contagious personality will be missed by so many until we are joined together again.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband Bobby (Bob) Barksdale, sister Doileen (Dee) Campbell of Conway, AR, sister Donna Dickson of South Carolina, brother Jack Davis (Beverly) of Flippin,AR, niece Sherry Oswald (Matt) of Conway, AR, nephew Gary Campbell (Marsha) of Hattieville, AR, niece Melissa Fisher of South Carolina, niece Kay Washam (Larry) of Lillie, LA, niece Gay Templeton (Mark) of Eldorado, AR, niece Karon Powell of Gassville, AR, niece Sharon Hopkins (Gerald) of Cotter, AR, a very dear friend Carolyn Clerico (Dan) of Dallas, TX, 3 adored fur-babies and many other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents Doyle E and Ophelia Welch Davis of Eldorado, AR and nephew Ricky Dean Davis, Sr. of Clinton, AR.

A celebration of her life by family and close friends will be held at a later time.
