Sheila's obituary

Sheila Sykes was born on January 16, 1984, and left us far too soon on March 28, 2026.

She was stubborn as hell, funny without even trying, and one of the hardest-working people I’ve ever known. She was strong in ways people could see like earning her black belt, but also in the quieter ways that mattered even more. She carried a lot in life and still showed up for the people she loved, over and over again. She had a voice that could bring down the house. And singing five-part harmony with her sisters was something hard to fully explain. It wasn’t just music, it was connection. It was peace. It fed her soul in a way we’ll never have again.

She was so many things all at once: a wife, a daughter, a sister, a new grandma, and a friend. And she gave everything she had to those roles. She loved deeply and showed it in the way she stayed present, loyal, and consistent like calling our dad every single week, no matter what. She was building her dream life by getting her certification as a nail tech, planning her dream property with the love of her life.  She loved her dogs like family, and going to Disney was one of her greatest joys. She held onto that sense of fun and magic in a way a lot of people forget how to. Sheila leaves behind so many people who love her deeply and will miss her every day. But more than anything, she leaves behind memories that are loud, funny, stubborn, and full of life—just like she was.

we will miss her forever.
