Sheila's obituary

Sheila Elaine (James) Amos, beloved daughter o f George and Elizabeth James, was

born o n May 19, 1951 i n Baltimore, Maryland. She transitioned from this life t o meet

her Heavenly Father, family and friends on December 16, 2025.

Sheila received her formal education from the Baltimore County School System

ultimately graduating from Sparrows Point Senior High School i n 1969. She furthered

her education at Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland and was a proud

member o f the Nun Phi Nun Sorority. After her education, she secured work at

several facilities, including Continental Can Corporation, Echo House Foundation as a

social worker and Johns Hopkins Hospital. Sheila was an avid learner and during her

career, she continued to enhance her level o f education. To this endeavor, she

received an array o f rewards, commendations, and certificates.

Sheila was an outstanding, dedicated, caring individual with a beautiful soul and a

heart o f gold. She was the epitome o f a leader allowing most o f her siblings t o share

housing accommodations with her prior to their securing accommodations o f their

own. She tenderly guided them through life to the point that i t was difficult to leave

her humble abode. She loved her family unconditionally and showered them with

knowledge, kindness and provided them with techniques to successfully succeed i n

life. Her family and friends simply adored her. She had the biggest heart and was

extremely giving. She never shied away from sharing all that she had, inclusive o f her

time, talents (e.g., preparing quiches and deviled eggs), money, knowledge and

experiences - anything which would contribute to one's ultimate success in life.

Sheila brought into the world two spectacular children, Harold Phillip Amos, Jr.

(deceased and affectionately known as Phil) and Shanequa Elana Addison, whom she

loved and adored and who loved and adored her immensely i n return. She found

utmost joy i n being the grandmother to her two spectacular grandchildren, Jaharrie

Robinson and Makayla Amos. She leaves t o celebrate her life and mourn her

departure her cherished daughter, Shanequa; brothers, George Earl James, III (Johnnie

Mae) and Joseph James; sisters, Jeweleane Oyesanya (Muyiwa) and Caroline James

and a host o f nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Sheila will be loved and missed by everyone who was enough  fortunate to spend time and space with her.
