Shean's obituary
Shean Timothy Madden passed away peacefully on May 1, 2025, in Dallas, Texas, at the age of 67. Born on October 22, 1957, he was the son of the late William J. Madden Jr. and Louis Catherine Walker.
Orphaned at a young age, Shean was lovingly raised by his grandmother, Katherine “Grannie” Niland. He often reflected fondly on his time at the Morris Boys School in Arkansas, where his deep love for animals first took root. That compassion endured throughout his life—he was known for rescuing and caring for animals, especially orphaned squirrels.
A passionate music enthusiast, Shean had a particular fondness for Pink Floyd. His love of music led him to work in event lighting, including for a Pink Floyd tour—an experience he treasured deeply.
Shean was preceded in death by his sisters Georgianna and Judith, and his brother Michael. He is survived by his daughter, Kathryn Long; his sister, Katherine Ann Columbus; his niece, Megan Columbus Quillen; and his nephew, Joey Columbus.
He will be remembered for his generous spirit, enduring love of animals, and lifelong devotion to music. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
