Shayna Rose Doherty: January 2, 1993 – September 28, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Shayna Rose Doherty, who left us peacefully on September 28, 2024 at the age of 31 years old, surrounded by loving family and friends.

Shayna was a kind, loving and free-spirited soul who brought joy to everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her spirit was uncontainable, living her life with a sense of adventure and a deep appreciation for the beauty in the world around her. Whether it was the company of her beloved cats (Ninny Muggins & Shorsey), spending time in nature, singing and dancing to her favorite songs or simply sharing a laugh with friends and family, Shayna found joy in the small meaningful moments in life. Her gentle nature and boundless compassion were most evident in her love for animals, who seemed to gravitate toward her, sensing her warmth and care.

Shayna was preceded in her passing by her beloved parents, John Louis Doherty and Wendy Kay Doherty (Carraher) and is survived by her siblings, Jackie Doherty (Sean Leffner), Teddy Doherty (Luz Doherty), Steven Doherty, and her long-time partner, Alex Sharp, along with many extended family members and dear friends.

A celebration of life for Shayna will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at 770 Lambeth Lane, New Lenox, IL 60451. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Catnap From the Heart, an Animal Shelter from which she rescued her Maine Coon, Shorsey, and a cause that was close to her heart.

May Shayna rest in peace, reunited with her parents, and forever remembered by her family and friends for her kind, loving spirit and the light that Shayna brought into the lives of everyone she touched.
