"In the quiet moments of the night, I feel your presence, shining bright. Your laughter echoes in my ear, Reminding me that you are near.

Though you are gone, you're not apart, You live on forever in my heart. Your smile, your touch, your loving gaze, Are memories that will never fade.

I miss you more than words can say, But in my heart, you'll always stay. Rest in peace, my dear niece, Forever loved, forever at peace."

I cannot take credit for this poem, but it perfectly expresses everything I feel and articulates my emotions better than I ever could. You are always in my thoughts, forever and always. I love and miss you so much, Shay! ❤️😢

We were sitting upstairs in my room an we were coloring in my books and so she asked if she could draw something on my wall and I told her yes. She got up and she startled drawing a woman but something happened and she didn't get to finish, so everyday after that I had to sit there looking at a half of woman. She had no head, no arms and one leg and everyday that I had to look at the when she would be sitting in the living room, I'd call her phone and say, are you gonna come and get this headless, paraplegic woman off my wall. She would start laughing extra hard saying her favorite phrase, "I Cann 't". She had a great sense of humor and we kept each others stomachs hurting from laughing so hard, she'll always and forever be missed by me definitely. She was extremely beautiful and had a lot of haters but at the end of the day she had an amazing spirit about herself and she was very strong minded. She loved her kids, she loved her mom, her kids and her siblings and anyone that knew her would say that she's an adorable young woman. She was bright and she just loved life an made sure you spent every moment being a shining star in everyone around her. I'm grateful that I was able to keep my promise to her and made sure I didn't rest until justice was paid for her life and her unborn child's life.

Ladies, I wish we could be there! Both Sandy and I have had to have major surgeries. We will be there in spirit though! Love and hugs!

My condolences to Shayla's family. I first met Shayla when was barely 1 years old! She is more than someone I love! More than a friend she is my baby sister! I love you so much Shayla! I was blessed to make your bottles, change your diapers and rock you to sleep! I was blessed to hold your hand as you gave birth to your first baby Marz! My heart will forever half a piece missing until we meet in heaven! I want you to know I got your mommy! Dez, I know how much I hurt and how devastated I am so there is no way I could ever understand the pain you’re going through but I’m here every step of the way! I miss you shayla that will never change! Your legacy will always remain! You’re truly legendary and this world will never be the same without you!
