Shawna Valle Smith, 51, of Grand Island NE, went to be with the Lord on January 29, 2022 surrounded by her children and loved ones.

Shawna was born in Homer, Alaska on December 26, 1970. She was raised by her mother in Anaheim, CA until her passing in 1986. She met Michael Smith in Paradise, CA and they married in Wichita, KS on October 8th, 1995. She was a devoted mother, a lover of animals, the ocean, & spicy food. 70’s music and artists such as The Beatles, The Beegees, Fleetwood Mac, & Prince soothed her soul. She loved to celebrate holidays & birthdays in an over-the-top fashion. She loved to talk and could become friends with anyone. Anybody that knew her will never forget her infectious laugh & sense of humor. She was a CNA & a Veterinary Assistant who had a special heart for the elderly, animals, and those less fortunate.

Shawna was predeceased by her Papa Donald Wright, her mother Pamm Ladrini, her father James Valle, her aunt Jacque Ladrini, & her uncle Chris Ladrini. She is survived by her grandmother Barbara Wright, Uncle Jim Ladrini, Aunt Dawn Wright, Uncle Gil Ladrini, numerous extended relatives & friends, her husband of 26 years, Michael Smith, her ex-husband Jerry Platsis, her children Sarin Platsis, Sierra & Joel Pierson, Savanna Smith, Matthew Smith, & Myles Smith. Her grandchildren Sydni, Izaak, & Blake Pierson, Emmalina Gutierrez Platsis, Leila Brunzell, Silas & Stella Platsis. She would of course want us to mention her dog Ginger & her cat Sunny.
