Shawn Phillip Shimkus II, born on December 3, 1997, in East China Township, MI, embarked on his eternal journey on April 26, 2024, in Salt Lake City, UT. He was the beloved son of Shawn Shimkus, Stacy Hinojosa, and adopted mom Staci Shimkus. Shawn was preceded in death by his grandfather Robert Shimkus, grandmother Linda Stark, and grandmother LeAnne Stover.
- Shawn's memory will forever be cherished by his sisters - Britani Peacock, Cortani LeFevre, Savannah Hinojosa, Aysia Shimkus; brother Alex LeFevre; nephews - Camden Peacock, Isaac Conway, Andre Phillips, Aiden Phillips, Greyson LeFevre; nieces - Ahmorah Conway, Tearanii Phillips, Milannah Robinson, Zayllii Weaver; and his Lola Gloria Shimkus. His family held a special place in his heart, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
- In his journey through life, Shawn explored various career aspirations, from dreaming of becoming an NFL wide receiver to a veterinarian and a firefighter, with a strong passion for rap music. His diverse interests reflected his dynamic personality, encompassing a love for animals, especially dogs, fishing, hunting, hiking, sports - particularly tennis where he garnered multiple awards in high school, poker, art, superhero movies, and his unwavering loyalty to the Detroit Lions football team.
- Described as smart, clever, funny, sarcastic, tender-hearted, passionate, and spontaneous, Shawn's emotions were profound and intense. He found solace in the great outdoors, surrounded by nature's beauty, mountains, and flowing water, embracing the serenity of the world around him.
- As we bid farewell to Shawn, a private funeral service will be held in his honor. In keeping his spirit alive, a charity will be established to carry forward his legacy and the values he held dear. Shawn leaves behind a message of love and unity, and his family extends a special shoutout to his numerous cousins who shared in his life's journey.
- Shawn Phillip Shimkus II's presence illuminated the lives of those around him, and his memory will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of his family and friends. May his soul find eternal peace and his spirit live on through the memories and love he shared with everyone he encountered
