Shawn's obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Shawn Smith, a cherished son, brother, father, and friend. Shawn was born on June 22, 1983, and left us too soon on August 24, 2023. His vivacious personality, constant laughter, and love for life will forever be remembered.
Shawn is survived by his devoted mother, Lynne Smith, his supportive brother, Jacob Molles, his loving sister, Heather Smith, his adoring daughter, Arianna Whitaker, and his young son, Shawn Erik Smith. He was predeceased by his beloved grandmother, Margaret Eileen (Greaney) Bergeron.
Known for his kindness and positivity, Shawn served his community as a volunteer at St Vincent De Paul, always willing to lend a helping hand. He passionately championed for Native American rights. His love for bold living reflected in his favorite color, bright red, his love for a hearty steak dinner, and his penchant for ice-cold water and iced tea.
Inspired by the book 'The Secret', he shared its wisdom with those around him. A fan of the music of Yellowulf, the TV Show 'Reservation Dogs' and supporter of The Chargers, Shawn was vibrant and full of life. His joyful spirit was most evident when he was outdoors, barbecuing, going to the dog park or visiting his favorite local spots like the fish fry at Tailgatorz. He enjoyed staying fit by lifting weights and running with his faithful canine companion, Bell.
Shawn's journey of self-improvement and resilience saw him become a solar installer, and he was on the cusp of becoming a certified electrician. His enduring lesson was rooted in empathy and kindness: never to be condescending to people who have fallen on hard times.
In his memory, and in lieu of flowers, funds are being raised for the 'Best Friends Animal Society' at the following website 'https://everloved.com/life-of…'.
Shawn's legacy will forever be one of laughter, generosity, and warmth. His bubbly, fun, witty personality, and his ever-present smile will be deeply missed. He leaves behind a wealth of fond memories with his family and his loyal dog, Bell. His presence in our lives will be sorely missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know him.
