Shauna Rusth, a beloved mother, wife, sister, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2023. Born on November 22, 1949, she lived a full and vibrant life, leaving an everlasting impression on the many lives she touched with her warm, inviting and fun personality.
She is survived by her loving husband, John Rusth, her cherished children, Mara Reyes and John Matthew Rusth, and her respected in-laws, Michelle King and Abel Reyes II. She will also be dearly missed by her dear brother, James Matthews, and her caring sisters, Diane King and Willa Dean Ohlde. Shauna was overjoyed to be the grandmother to Gabriel and Andrew Reyes, relishing every moment she spent with them. She is predeceased by her parents, Jesse and Ruby Matthews, and her sister, Bonnie Ryan.
Shauna graduated from Merrill High School, OR in 1968 and furthered her education by graduating from Beauty School. She had a natural flair for creating beauty not just in her professional life but in her hobbies which included reading, crocheting, beading, sewing, tole painting, pottery, and a variety of crafts. Her love for creativity was only paralleled by her love for culinary delights with filet mignon, mashed potatoes, and gravy being her favorite foods.
Shauna had a varied taste in music, enjoying the likes of Tina Turner, Patsy Cline, and John Prine. She loved to lose herself in the magical world of Harry Potter and other sci-fi movies. She enjoyed playing Clue and would cheer on any winning sports team. Her favorite color, just like her vibrant persona, was orange.
Her favorite place to unwind and relax was Mexico, where she would soak up the sun and culture. However, Shauna's legacy stretches far beyond her personal preferences and accomplishments. It is a legacy of kindness, understanding, and an unwavering love for her family and friends. She was the epitome of compassion and caring, loving wholly and unconditionally.
A Celebration of Life for Shauna will be held on July 4, 2023, at 2:00 PM at 9918 S Camino De La Calinda, where we will remember and honor her life. The life of a woman who lived fully, loved deeply, and will be incredibly missed by all who knew her.
