Sharron's obituary

Sharron Louise Correll-Merrell, age 80, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2025. She leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth, and devotion to both her family and her cherished animal companions.

Born on December 28, 1944, to Melvin and Treada (Hall) Rupert in Windsor, Canada, Sharron married Wayne Correll in April 1966 and moved to the United States. She devoted her life to creating a loving home and nurturing those around her.

Sharron was a loving mother to Sharene (Tim) Van Dusen and Colleen (Rick) Rutenbar. She took immense joy in her role as grandmother to Richard (Ricky) Wayne Rutenbar, Margaret (Maggie) and MacKenzie Van Dusen, sharing with them her kindness, gentle spirit, and boundless enthusiasm for all things Disney. Her love of Disney magic created countless precious memories with her family.

Sharron was preceded in death by her beloved first husband Wayne Correll and her second husband Travis Merrell, her parents Melvin and Treada (Hall) Rupert, and her brother James Rupert.

Throughout her life, Sharron's profound love for animals was evident in the special bonds she formed with her faithful companions, from Major in her young adult years to Mickey, who remained loyally by her side until her final moments. Her nurturing nature and capacity for unconditional love extended to both her human family and her beloved pets.

A memorial service celebrating Sharron's life will be announced at a later date.
