Sharon's obituary

It is with profound sadness that the family of Sharon Leigh (Pickett) Wilson announce her passing on Sunday, December 13th, 2020 after a hard-fought battle with COVID-19.

Sharon will be dearly missed by her children: Jason and Kara Cook of Washington, OK and Jennifer and Eric Johns of Weatherford, OK; her grandchildren: Delilah, Griffin, Emelia Johns, and Harper Cook; her mother: Helyn Pickett of Virginia, MN; her sister: Kathy and brother-in-law Bill Judnick of Virginia, MN; brothers and sisters-in-law, Allan and Kim Pickett of Blaine, MN, Steve and Heather Pickett of Otsego, MN, Keith Pickett and Kim Brazil of Circle Pines, MN; dear friend, Mary Davidson of Mangum, OK; many nieces, nephews, friends, and loved ones.

In death, she has been joyfully reunited with her husband, Robert; her father Wayne; brother, Bill; sister-in-law, Shelley, and dear friend Bob.

Sharon was born on December 5th, 1957 in Inglewood, California to Wayne and Helyn (Bergman) Pickett. The family later made their home in Blaine, Minnesota where Sharon was raised. Sharon was a proud graduate of Blaine High School where she was a member of the color guard, JROTC and the Premiere Graduating Class of 1976. She attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, OK, earning her Bachelors of Arts in Business Administration in 2001.

Sharon married Bobby Darrell Cook in Elkhart, Kansas in 1978. Sharon and Bob made their home in Mangum, Oklahoma where they raised their children, Jason and Jennifer. Sharon worked as a medical lab technician for many years at Mangum City Hospital.

In 1991, Sharon married the love of her life, Robert Glenn Wilson. They made their home together near Mangum, OK and walked hand-in-hand through life until his passing in 2015.

In 2019, Sharon moved to Virginia, Minnesota to be near family. She spent the final months of her life with her beloved mother and sister.

Sharon was a voracious reader and lived a thousand lives through the books she loved and cherished. She was an avid crafter – sewing, quilting, and crocheting items that will be cherished by loved ones forever. Always up for an adventure, Sharon loved spending time with her mom in Breezy Point, MN and traveling with her sister, Kathy. Sharon’s smile and infectious laugh will be missed by all. The light and love she brought to the world is irreplaceable.

A graveside service at Ft. Snelling in Minneapolis, MN will be announced by the family at a later date.
