Sharon's obituary
Sharon Mann, 77, of Thonotosassa, Florida passed away September 10, 2023, due to complications of COPD. She was born in Washington D.C. to Willard and Louise McArdle. She grew up in the Washington D.C area and graduated from Washington Lee High school in 1964. After high school she married Raymond P Mann. The couple resided in Houston Texas and moved to Tampa, Fl in 1973 with their children Diana and Raymond Jr.
Over the years Sharon was employed by the University of South Florida and later by the Department of Transportation, retiring in 2008. Sharon valued the many friends she made at work and remained close to several until her passing.
Sharon loved laughing until her sides hurt with her children, watching sci-fi , Disney cruises, the beach, watching football, drinks with tiny umbrellas, meeting her friends for lunch, and listening to Jimmy Buffet. She never met a dog she didn’t love and rescued many strays over the years. She was known and loved as a second mom to many of her children’s friends. Above all else, she loved her granddaughter Nuri, and cherished the time she spent with her and their many adventures.
Sharon is survived by her daughter Diana Matthew, son Raymond Mann Jr, and granddaughter Nuri Matthew, all of Tampa. Other survivors include half siblings Michael and Tammie McArdle, and their mother Donis of Oregon, nephews Carl and Paul Mann, and niece Christina Mann of Texas. She was predeceased by her husband of 42 years, Raymond P. Mann Sr, her father Willard C. McArdle, and mother Louise E. Purl.
Sharon will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She will be buried next to her husband at the National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fl in a private ceremony.
A celebration of life gathering will be held at Gaspar’s Patio Bar & Grille 10/21/24 from 2:00pm-6:00pm. Please wear bright colors, Per Sharon’s wishes “I don’t want anyone wearing ___ ____ black clothes, I want a party.”
