Sharon's obituary

Sharon C. (Massey) Lynch passed away quietly on March 31st, 2025 surrounded by her children and husband following a brief but brave journey with rapid declining health due to Alzheimer’s, she was 69 years old.

A Celebration of Life - Memorial Gathering will be held on Thursday, April 17th from 3 pm to 7 pm at the Clear Lake City Hall in Clear Lake, Minnesota.

Sharon was born on January 8th, 1956 to Corneil L. Hagers and Alton L. Massey in Saint Paul, Minnesota. for the first 13 years of life, she lived in West Saint Paul with her mother, grandmother, brother and sister on West Isabel Street.

In 1969, her mother married a farmer from Braham and moved with her children to his family farm. They welcomed two more sisters in the next 5 years.

Sharon attended and graduated from Braham Area High School with the Class of ’74.

In 1976, she married her first husband and after a little over a decade of being a stay home mother raising her two children, she decided to put to good use her passion for helping people and attended Saint Cloud Technical College earning a degree in Licensed Practical Nursing. She spent many years caring for residents in nursing homes and memory care units.

In 1998, after her divorce she moved to Tucson, Arizona and expanded career, caring for hospice patients. It was in Arizona where she met and then married Thomas Lynch in 2007.

Shortly after the death of Tom’s parents, in 2014, the couple moved from Tucson to Minnesota. She wanted to be closer to her family, especially her grandchildren.

All her life, from high school and beyond Sharon made many good friends and a few lifelong friends that she remained close with until the end.

Sharon enjoyed baking, cooking, crocheting, art and reading. Her compassion for animals led her to rescue many dogs and cats over the years volunteering for shelters.

Sharon is survived by her husband Thomas Lynch; her children Frances Steckelberg, John (Loretta) Steckelberg, Mari (Peter) Perugini; stepson Thomas (Elissa) Lynch Jr; many grandchildren Zoë Steckelberg and Wyatt Pultz, Marcel, Cecilia and Augustus Steckelberg, Luca Perugini, Benjamin and Jack Lynch.

She is also survived by her brother Greg Massey and sisters Christine (Bill) Dahlquist, Nicole (Tim) Laman, and Rachel Peterson; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She is proceeded in death by her parents, step parents, several in-laws and many beloved pets.
