Obituary of Sharon Ann Gaulin
Sharon Ann “Sherrie” Gaulin, 87, passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at the TimberRidge Center for Rehabilitation & Healing in Ocala, FL. She was born May 3, 1937 in Atchison, Kansas, the daughter of M. Clair and Virginia Rosemary (Bryant) Willmeth.
Sharon attended Lanphier High School in Springfield, Illinois. Besides singing in her high school choir, Sharon was a member of the choir at First Christian Church in Springfield. In addition to her role as a mother and homemaker, Sharon had many friends and always enjoyed an active social life.
She is survived by her sons, William Tumbleson and Blake Tumbleson; daughter, Virginia Dillard; stepson, Robert Gaulin Jr.; stepdaughter, Deborah Taylor; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three great -great-grandchildren; and brother, Roger Willmeth. Two of Sherrie’s daughters, Joni Tumbleson and Lori Tumbleson, predeceased her, as did her husband, Robert J. Gaulin Sr.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 5, 2024, 2:00 PM at the Port Charlotte Global Methodist Church, 21075 Quesada Avenue, Port Charlotte, Florida 33952. Inurnment will be at the Florida National Cemetery in Busnell, Florida, where Sharon’s deceased husband received military honors and was inurned in 2017.
Sweet, strong and witty she was a people person who cherished life and her family. Loved by all we will miss her deeply. May she rest in peace. Forever in our hearts she will always be loved!💗
