My grandma was a woman who knew her value, what she wanted, and had high expectations for herself and everyone around her. Though it was hard to live up to these expectations as a little girl, I look back and am endlessly grateful for her standards and tough love, because it taught me that I am capable of more than I believed and the incredible value of hard work and treating others with respect. Never give up. Keep trying. These are wonderful sentiments that say a lot about who my grandma was. Until her very last day, even in the face of a horrible disease, both of my grandparents refused to stop trying to make each day as great as possible. They refused to expect less from others, and I think this is so powerful! However, I do love that my grandma always wanted to set boundaries between being a teacher and a part of a family. After the work was done, it was done and we were more than welcome to sneak candy from her big basket, laugh and run around their pool, bake a ton of delicious goodies, and play board games. More than anything, my grandparents taught me what it means to be there for family. Aside from always opening their home to us at any moment, they were at every single dance performance, cheer game, school concert, and more. I always said that I didn't care if people came and that I would hate to inconvenience people, but seeing them every single event made me feel so special and loved and I could never thank them enough for it. I'll miss my grandma forever, but I am proud of the life she led and look forward to seeing her again someday.

Sharon and Bill’s love for each other and the devotion to each other and their faith in God was truly beautiful!

Sharon was a perfectionist. Her musical gifts were shared with so many and will always be part of her legacy.

She and Bill raised two exemplary sons and were blessed with six equally beautiful grandchildren who loved her dearly and will miss her being part of their lives.

I will always remember her legendary Peanut butter pie, huge Shopping Mall cookies, apple pie with perfect crust!  Sammi, Alyssa and Meghan make fabulous versions of these recipes!

Sharon shared her love of All things Disney too. Troy’s family has one Christmas tree filled with just Disney memories.

A life well lived leaving a legion of loving memories RIP Sharon, you loved and were loved deeply!

I remember her singing This Is My Father’s World as a solo at the Nazarene church in Litchfield when I was just a young kid. Over the years I have thought of her every time I’ve sung or heard that hymn! Keeping you all in my prayers
