Sharon's obituary

Sharon "Sherry" Barker (Heaton), 81, of Greenwood, IN, passed away on September 20, 2024 at Franciscan St. Francis Hospital after a hard fought battle with cancer.

Sharon was born on October 4th, 1942 to George W. and Joanne M. Heaton in Indianapolis.

She married the love of her life Charles “Charlie” Barker August 19, 1994. He preceded her in death. Sharon was also preceded in death by her first husband, Donald B. Larson, whom she had two children with (Don Jr. and Kimberly). Sharon is survived by her second husband, Richard Steenbergen.

Survivors include son, Donald B Larson Jr (Denise) of Franklin; daughter Kimberly J Key of Greenwood; Seven grandchildren, Travis (Leah) Larson, Heidi Larson, Alexis Larson, JoAnna (Nicholas) Rice, and Emily Key; and six great-grandchildren, Jace, Trent, Abby, Gracie, Alex, and Claire.

She was preceded in her death by her parents; Brother, Ronald Lee Heaton (Geneva) of Orlando, Fl; Cousin, Janice McElwaine (Knight) of Georgia, and Niece Diana of Orlando, Fl.

Sharon was best known for her larger than life personality, humor, and love of family. She enjoyed sports including softball, bowling, horseshoes, and spending time with family/friends. She will be greatly missed.

A celebration of life for Sharon Barker will be held Saturday October 19 from 1-4pm at the Greenwood VFW post 5864.
