Sharin Alpert of Shelburne Falls, 73, passed away peacefully on March 26 following a sudden illness. A lifetime resident of western Massachusetts, she loved nature, walking in the woods or in town, reading, her sweet community, music, gardening, and her family, friends, colleagues, and cats.

An advocate for peace and justice, Sharin was a cofounder of Racial Justice Rising and the Reparations Collective, both based in Greenfield, and a participant in other progressive causes. She …
