Sharan was a passionate biomedical engineer and researcher, dedicating his career to improving treatments for children born with congenital heart valve disease. His work focused on developing tissue-engineered heart valves that could grow and function naturally within a child’s body — reducing the need for repeated surgeries and improving long-term outcomes.
He often said he wanted to save the children. His research was driven by this simple but powerful purpose, and he devoted his life to it.
