Shannon's obituary
Shannon E. Childs, of Manchester, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at his home on October 15, 2025, at the age of 58. He was born on October 14, 1967.
Shannon spent 37 years as an over-the-road truck driver, a career that he enjoyed and that was perfectly suited for his adventurous spirit and love of freedom. Whether behind the wheel of his rig or cruising on his Harley-Davidson, Shannon found peace and joy in the journey and the wide-open highways he called home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Phillip and Jama Childs of Broadway, Virginia, and by his beloved daughters, Chelsie Abbey and Celeste Ramirez.
Shannon is survived by his sisters, Beki Sullivan and Katie Filder, both of Broadway, Virginia; his brother, Kevin Childs of Staunton, Virginia; and his children, William Copes of Elora, Tennessee; Bobbie Jo Copes and Tiffany Copes, both of Winchester, Tennessee; Nikole Sikorski of Holt, Florida; Eric Parvin of Columbia, Missouri; and Heather Shaulis of Dallas, Texas, Five Grandsons, Four Granddaughters and 4 Great Grandkids. And numerous nieces and nephews. ex-wife and dear friend, Pam Holman of Columbia, Missouri.
Shannon will be remembered for his warm heart, easygoing nature, and the quiet strength he carried through life. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.He will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed.
In accordance with his final wishes, Shannon was cremated, and requested no service.
