Shanita's obituary
Shanita John was born on January 9, 1985, on the island of Saint Vincent to her loving parents, Joan and Kenneth John. Though she moved around throughout her life, she made her home in Minnesota, a place where her joy, talent, and deep presence left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her.
To describe Shanita is to try to capture magic in words. She carried a joyful, excitable energy, a sense of childlike wonder that never faded. She could shift from light-hearted laughter to the most profound contemplative conversations with ease. She was brilliant, deeply kind, and endlessly fun, someone who made every room brighter just by being in it. Her sense of humor was unmatched, her writing could stir the soul, and her music carried beauty and depth that reflected the richness of her inner world.
Shanita believed in helping people. She was never happier than when she was surrounded by those she loved, lifting them up, listening without judgment, and offering care with her whole heart. She was the kind of person who made you feel truly seen.
On May 22nd, 2022, Shanita married the love of her life, Greg Muggli-Miller, on a day as enchanting and beautiful as their connection. Their bond was effortless and deep, a true partnership where each made the other better, happier, and more whole.
She had a deep love for anime, music, and film, mediums through which she explored creativity, meaning, and joy. These passions reflected the vibrant colors of her personality and the stories she lived and shared.
Shanita’s life was a gift to everyone who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and light that will continue to echo in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to call her family, friend, and beloved.
Shanita is survived by her husband, Greg; her father, Kenneth John; her brother and sister-in-law, Shane and Nelissa John; her beloved nieces, Nelleah and Nalani; and many other family members around the world.
