Shane's obituary
Can you imagine having your child struggle with confidence for years, to the point that they are afraid to even leave the house. Imagine if this was a dear friend of yours.
Shane lived with his parents, Yvonne and Ken Peterson, in Forest Grove until 2020. When Ken suddenly passed, this left Yvonne and Shane houseless and grieving their husband and father. Over the last few years Shane worked to become more confident with himself, getting ready to look for work, completing programs to be able to gain skills for his new like with his new found confidence. He managed to overcome major anxieties of being in public, something we are all so proud of. He was an understanding, passionate, and smart man. He had so much potential in life. However, all he wanted was to go home to California. He enjoyed the simple things in life, reading, movies, and video games. Shane and his mother were staying in a motel on December 14th, 2023. Yvonne came back to the room to find her son passed away. After all of his hard work to be able to start his life, he passed away on the first day of his new life after completing life skills programs. His heart valve gave out when he was in his sleep.
Yvonne is still struggling after losing her husband, Ken. She has had to ask Shane's dearest friend, Erika Wickerham, to handle the cremation arrangements.
Shane and Erika have been close friends for over 9 years. She helped him grow so much as a person, and is devastated with his passing. She is needing help with funds for his cremation, as this was totally unexpected. Shane was 34 years old, and healthier than he'd ever been. We are starting out the fundraiser at the cost of the cremation. If we go over $925, funds will go towards supporting Yvonne and Erika in their time of grief.
If you'd like to donate directly, Erika's cashapp is $Bellebeauty101
Thank you for your time, and please share to help ease the grief this holiday season.
